Luminary Theatre Company – Fredericksburg, VA · PAID
Production: A Christmas Carol (original musical adaptation)
Rehearsals Begin: Sunday, September 6, 2025
Tech Week: December 8–11, 2025
Opening: December 12, 2025

Luminary Theatre Company is seeking a Props Designer for our original musical production of A Christmas Carol. This is a modern retelling with a vintage Christmas atmosphere, blending warmth and nostalgia with fresh music and storytelling. The director’s visual style leans heavily on found objects, curated antiques, and creatively repurposed items to evoke a timeless world that feels lived-in and magical. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented, resourceful artist who enjoys hunting down unique pieces and bringing a director’s imaginative vision to life through texture, tone, and authenticity.

What We’re Looking For:
• A creative and organized individual who can source, adapt, or build show props using a “found objects” and vintage aesthetic.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments, particularly scenic and costume design.
• Professional design experience is not required.
• This person may serve as the liaison to the Set Designer during tech week; additional compensation may be available for that role.

Schedule:
• Rehearsals begin September 6 and run Sundays (afternoons), Mondays, and Thursdays (evenings).
